王鑫教授简介：

Dr. Xin Wang completed his B.E. in environmental engineering from Harbin Institute of Technology in 2004. After that, he continued his Ph.D, studying energy recovery from wastewater using microbial fuel cells in the same university. During 2008-2009, he moved to Penn State University as a joint Ph.D. student, working with Professor Bruce Logan. He joined the department of environmental engineering at Nankai University, China as a lecturer in the summer of 2010. He was promoted to associate professor and full professor in 2012 and 2017, appointed as the Department Chair of Environmental Engineering in 2019, and vice dean in 2021. His research has been recognized by the Water-Star Prize (IWA-YWP China), Scopus Young Researcher Award, nominated as the Fellow of Royal Society of Chemistry. His current research mainly focuses on the fundamentals of electroactive biofilm formation on the carbon electrode and the microbial ecology of electroactive and non-electroactive microbes. Now he is developing microbial electrochemical technologies for rapid sensing of water quality, biohydrogen production from wastes and CO₂ sequestration and utilization. In 2025, he awarded the Youth Science Fund Project (Class A) of NSFC. He is associate editor of Frontiers in Microbiology, editorial board members of Journal of Hazardous Materials, Environmental Science: Water Research & Technology, ACS ES&T Engineering, Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering etc.
